The 1st Arab social media forum was one of a kind event that took place on the 11th of December in Amman-Jordan, gathering social media experts and well known figures in the field to discuss online networking in the Arab world where both client’s & agencies experienced dealing with Social Media platforms & different social engagement approaches.
Even if you haven’t attended the event, you must have heard about it through the huge social media Campaign that Communities tech have managed through facebook, twitter, bangaia and much more ! The team has directed the organization of the event itself, designed its identity and print media in a way to accompany the buzz and social campaigns done around it.

Being the first forum concerned with social media in the Arab world, the 1st ASMF needed a unique kind of social media and viral marketing services. We started by collecting data about the forum, its target audience and speakers. After that the team moved to analyze the landscape of social media in the Arab world, and started pin pointing the key success factors for a viral campaign in the region.
Our online promotion campaign included ASMF Facebook page which was filled with up to date news and reached almost 2000 likers, with 3000+ users active monthly and more than 19000+ views of the page daily. The event on facebook reached more than 750 attending and 650 maybe attending.
The twitter channel was another success, which spread the atmosphere of the event as it stayed active during ASMF and kept live tweeting all the way with more than 1000 targeted followers increase, and its twibbon was added 100+ times.
As a part of the social media campaign, the team started a unique program called “Ambassadors Program” that aimed to attract the most influential and active people in the region regarding the online sphere. This program was successful in creating a buzz about the event and in collecting more than 25 ambassadors from different countries including (Lebanon, Egypt, Pakistan ..etc) that helped stir the buzz in their countries and communities about the event.
We also made sure in Communities Tech that no one would miss the event and in cooperation with Aramram.com,online live streaming was provided for everyone to watch the event live even at home!

As we realized that The Arab Social Media Forum was displayed in several media channels and it was one of the most anticipated events of 2010 for the social media enthusiasts, CT team developed an interactive smart phone application to stay ahead of schedule by listing all the important forum info in addition to a live feed from the twitter hashtag displaying what everyone is talking about the forum.

One of the presentations was given by Eng. Hussein Al-Sarabi the Founder and General Manager of Communities Tech. He talked about the very interesting website launching soon “Bangaia”, taking us on a journey through the beginning of Internet, and into the latest stages of social media and networking , describing how this very exiting website will take communication into another new level, where communication will be done between communities instead of individuals, making Bangaia the “Community of Communities”!
